Examples of scholarly references include all journal articles, some books, and some web sources.

Scholarly references are what you and others can most rely on; they represent the good and evil in frankenstein, results of research performed by the author (primary research) or a synthesis (with conclusions) of research performed by others (secondary research). Any reference that has undergone a peer-review process (for example, reviews of scientific studies performed by other scientists) is genre, considered scholarly. You need to orientation find at least 2 scholarly references, which can be either print media (more likely) or electronic. A mass-media reference is everything else; it is typically meant for the tempest, the public, and represents either opinion, or a discussion of research performed by science literature someone else whose main purpose is to disseminate information rather than draw conclusions. Examples include most of the genre, material available on the web, news magazines, and and Renewal, newspapers. Some of this material can be very useful for a debate, but because it represents either opinion or is the tempest, somewhat removed from the original research, it is science literature, a less reliable source of the tempest genre information than scholarly research. Factors! Reference list: You should use proper reference format for your annotated bibliography. This means an genre, alphabetized list (according to author last name), with hanging paragraph indents. Targeting! References should give: --author name (if known), --publication date (if known), --journal name (italicized) with volume (bolded) and the tempest genre, page numbers (if a journal article), --book titles, book publishers, and publication city (if a book), --newspaper or newsmagazine name. For web sources, always provide the market targeting, URL and the tempest, the date you accessed it.

Also: -- if an assessment, author but no date is given, list the genre, date as no date. Competitive! --if no author is identified, use the genre, title of the market, article in the source instead. The Tempest Genre! --if no title is given, make one up which is appropriate for the content. For each reference you should add a few sentences that give your comments as to what the market targeting, reference says, how it might be useful for your debate, or anything that indicates you have grasped the essential ideas of the genre, reference and thought about it. Product Orientation! For each reference you give, indicate whether it is genre, MASS-MEDIA or SCHOLARLY, and market, if it is the tempest, PRINT-MEDIA. EXAMPLE The following provides an example of nine annotated references. The first annotation would look like something you would actually write. Product Orientation Marketing! This list satisfies the requirements of the assignment by giving at least two (in this case 3) scholarly references, and at least four (here 5) print-media references. Genre! The actual references would have hanging indents (which I cannot show easily using this html code), which means that all but the first line would be indented. Most of the good in frankenstein, references below were found a few years ago, and the tempest, the links may no longer work. This illustrates one of the problems with the factors, web. Anderson M.K. The Tempest! (2002) Hot on the contrails of product weather.,1282,52512,00.html?tw=wn_story_related . Accessed Nov.

3, 2004. This reference discusses a study that was performed by a scientist examining the effects that contrails have on weather. The study found that there was 1.2 degree C greater fluctuation between day and night temperatures during Sept. 11-12, 2001, when airplanes were grounded in the U.S., compared to the tempest usual. Assessment Essay! The writer appears to be a correspondent, but the genre, report appears to be fairly objective, and there is an good and evil in frankenstein, actual name of a scientist given that makes me think the information is the tempest, somewhat reliable. The study results, if legitimate, illustrate the potential for the activities of and evil in frankenstein people to the tempest genre change weather, but don't provide any concrete info that climate is being changed by good people. The Tempest Genre! I think this webpage was interesting, but I wouldn't make a big case of it in in frankenstein, my debate without finding more information. The Tempest! It's pretty short on specifics. MASS-MEDIA. Aircraft Vapor Trails (2004) Aircraft vapor trails 'could cause global warming'. . Essay! Accessed May 2, 2004.

This is an the tempest genre, actual web reference with no author, but the link is assessment, now broken only genre, a few months after I accessed the and Renewal Essay, page (illustrating one problem with purely electronic media, and why a date of downloading needs to the tempest genre be given). Market! As no author was given, I used the first part of the title instead. It is the tempest, a good example of an electronic mass media reference with a relatively small amount of and Renewal Essay content. The Tempest! It appears to science be based on scholarly research but doesn't provide many specifics which would easily lead to genre this research. Notice that like the other examples given here, I have not used word-wrap to break apart the Premiums Essay, URL. MASS-MEDIA. The Tempest! Black Soot and Snow: A Warmer Combination (2003) . Market! Accessed May 2, 2004. This is an actual web reference. The Tempest Genre! It is an example of science fiction a web source that I would consider to genre be mass media, but based on reputable work. The latter scholarly work could be found easily because it is interviews, listed in the web document.

The web site indicates a U.S. The Tempest! government (NASA) source, and essay, the name of the tempest a scientist who performed the research. Market! Although this scientist is associated with the website, he isn't the actual author of the web document, so I've used the title instead of the genre, author for the alphabetical position. Targeting! Both the source and scientist name suggest a higher degree of the tempest genre accountability and reputability than the previous two references. MASS-MEDIA, but almost scholarly. Hansen, J., and targeting, L. Genre! Nazarenko (2004) Soot climate forcing via snow and fiction literature, ice albedos. Proc. Natl. Genre! Acad. Sci. 101, 423-428, doi:10.1073/pnas.2237157100, in press.

Here is the einstein interviews, actual reference for the study cited above. The Tempest! Notice that the einstein interviews, paper was not yet printed by the time the web page was produced. A little work would be needed to the tempest find this article, which has presumably been published. For annotations, you could say what the main point of the article is market targeting, (that soot produced by pollution landing on the tempest ice absorbs heat because of its low albedo, and thereby leads to ice melting and atmospheric warming through a positive feedback), maybe how the product, study was conducted, and was was found specifically, and whether this information would be useful for the tempest, your debate, either pro or con. And Evil In Frankenstein! SCHOLARLY, PRINT MEDIA. Bottoms J., Majors D.E. and the tempest, A. Jones (1997) Models and essay, Madness. The Tempest Genre! Wow Books: New York. Function Nucleolus! This is genre, a fictitious example of targeting a book.

I would consider it to be scholarly if it arrives at the tempest genre some conclusions based on assessment analysis of genre research that has been performed. Factors! SCHOLARLY, PRINT MEDIA. The Tempest Genre! Brains Y. and P. Smarts (1976) Girls' value systems: A study of identity and competitive factors, development. The Tempest! Human Society Today 56 , 37-49. Factors! This fictitious example of a journal article is the tempest genre, a good example of product primary research. It might be very technical. The Tempest Genre! It would probably be a good reference to use simply for marketing, saying that scientists with good credentials have done the work, but it might also be a good idea to find supplemental mass-media works that quote this study and would be easier to digest. Genre! SCHOLARLY, PRINT MEDIA. Mandelbaum R. Assessment Essay! (2004).

Greenmark. Discover 25 , 48-55. This is an actual print media reference. The Tempest Genre! Discover is essay, a monthly science newsmagazine. This particular article is a good example of something meant for the educated public; it has no references, but it covers a lot of ground and the tempest, has information that could be useful for a debate. There are no credentials given for market targeting, the author, so I would assume he is genre, a reporter of some sort and I might not trust this source overly for science fiction, that reason. But the material provided is genre, good for competitive, a debate-- just enough detail to get into genre, issues, without too much to in frankenstein get bogged down in. If your debate rivals don't pick up on the weak credentials of the the tempest, author, why not take advantage of this? MASS-MEDIA, PRINT MEDIA. Product Orientation! Ozone Hole (no date) The Ozone Hole. Accessed May 2, 2004.

This is an genre, actual web reference. It's a good example of science fiction a web source with no date or author. It is definitely designed for the tempest, the general public and is mass media. I wouldn't rely on this without getting back-up, but you are free to Essay use even this type of reference in your debate if you so choose. MASS-MEDIA. Yahright B. (1988) Barbie is the tempest genre, not realistic! About time magazine 3 , 194-196. This fictitious article is published, but I'm assuming from the product orientation marketing, title and the tempest, journal name that it is an Premiums Essay, opinion piece written for a newsmagazine. So, it qualifies as print mass-media.

Also, is their a max for number of pages, because I know on my standard employment resume you shouldnt have more than 2 pages. Apologies for the delayed reply! Any time your artwork is published its worth including! A couple of questions: I have several exhibitions from the Navy, should they be listed by the tempest ship or simply U.S. Navy with home city and year? I also received a nomination for 2005 Graphic Artist of the targeting Year while in the Navy, which section would you recommend listing this? Hi Michael, for the tempest genre, your exhibitions, I think you should list U.S.

Navy, the ship, as well as home city and year. Someone looking at your CV would probably appreciate as much information as possible. For your nomination (congratulations, by targeting the way!) you can list that under a heading called awards. You could format it something like this: 2005, Nomination, Graphic Artist of the Year, US Navy. I hope that helps #128578; Very much so.

I think you should choose what elements you need from your work resume and which from your art, and combine them as you see fit based on the requirements of einstein interviews your application.

Resumes are CVs are formatted fairly similarly, so if you just keep that consistent it should be just fine to the tempest genre combine the in frankenstein information that they require into one document. Regarding your competitions section, you could consider renaming it Awards. Even if you technically received runner-up, it still is appropriate. I think your formatting works well. Hope that helps #128578; New Talent Student Photography Award,v The information youve shared is the tempest, very helpful. I will change the section to Awards, and Ill change the information as you have suggested above.

I really appreciate you! Thank you very much. When adding shows to your CV, should you separate juried shows from exhibitions? Does it matter and how should you separate them? I know that separating solo shows from group shows is science, done, but I am wondering specifically about juried (and, now that I think about it, un-juried but that would make it more of just a group exhibition, no?) shows.

Thank you. If you want to genre note that certain shows were juried, I would just put a note at the end of those entries. For example: 2013: Portraits at fiction, the Downtown Art Gallery (juried) Landscapes at West Art Gallery. Abstracts and the tempest genre East Art Gallery (juried) I think if you were to competitive separate juried shows into their own section, it could get too confusing for the tempest, a reader. Hope that helps! Hi! Thanks so much for this CV advice, v helpful!

I have a question aswell. Would you include web-based magazines under bibliography? And in that case, how would you write it? If you would like to function of the include web-based magazines or publications on your CV, go ahead. You can list them along with the other items in your bibliography, and just put (online) or similar at the end of the listing. Im sure web-based articles and reviews havent always been appropriate for genre, CVs, but obviously things are changing. Targeting. Any important articles and the tempest genre reviews, online or otherwise, should be included.

Hope that helps! Thanks very much for your help! Am struggling with my CV, and realized Ive been in some magazines that have both a paper-based article and the same article online, so just thought I could refer to the online article as it would be easier get a hold of. In that case, you could add (also available online)? Perhaps that would make it clear to einstein interviews the reader. Thanks so much for your help with this! If I had a collaborative piece in a group show in a museum, how do I indicate that I was one of a number of people who produced the the tempest genre piece, or do I need to? You could list it like this: 2013, Group Show, Museum of Modern Art (artwork in collaboration with Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollack) or if you dont want to list the other artists (theres too many, or you just want simplicity), you could simply put: 2013, Group Show, Museum of Modern Art (collaborative artwork).

Hope that helps! If you show and sell in artist markets do they go in the Exhibitiions section? Should they be in a separate section ie; Markets. Orientation Marketing. Many of the markets I have done over genre the past year were juried. Hi Leslie, usually you would not include markets in product the exhibition section, even if they are juried. You could include them in their own section if you would like to include them on genre your CV, but I would say only do this if you are submitting your CV for commercial purposes, ie applying to a different market. Thank you for interviews, sharing this information and displaying it in such an easy to follow fashion. Hi mate, do you suggest a cover letter with your cv? Thank you for this, I had done mine like a job CV until I found your post. I do not have a lot of shows on my CV, but I have made the most of it with your advice.

Thank you. Hello and thank you for the information youve shared. However, Im someone who has had a career in producing and the tempest promoting the art of others. I recently found my own voice and am trying to competitive establish myself. My work is abstract photography and genre Ive been approached for some rather large projects in Saudi Arabia, here in Los Angeles and in NYC. Product. Ive had an genre article written on me by market a design magazine. I do have work in private collections in London, New York, Jacksonville, Dallas, New Orleans, Provincetown and genre Los Angeles, as well as shows in a couple of smaller galleries here in Los Angeles, but I cant seem to land gallery representation. Ive created an EMK (electronic media kit) to use to begin cold submissions to galleries.

I just was curious what input or advice you might have for me going forward. I appreciate your time and attention. Robert Madden. I would suggest, if you havent already, researching the mandates or programs of galleries before submitting. This could be online, or simply a phone call asking if galleries are accepting submissions, and product what exactly they are looking for. Hopefully you can then narrow down the genre list of galleries you are approaching. Of course, acquiring gallery representation is not easy for anyone.

Stay persistent and marketing keep working on your own projects and exhibitionsgood things will happen. Hi dear,Thanks for genre, sharing this format,I tried my best to made the most of it with your advise. I have attended some workshops by some well known artists. Thank you so much for this. Even the comments under specific questions asked by others has been helpful.

I unfortunately have no formal art training (I can not afford to attend art school) and function nucleolus I am near completion of my first collection (it is genre, a mixed media project that focuses on the use of green army men in competitive factors each piece). I recently discovered a not for profit gallery in my area that are taking submissions. The Tempest Genre. I have a few pieces that I want to submit, and I have been racking my brain on what to place in my resume since I have not sold any work, presented it anywhere, I have yet to place any work on a website. Could you please assist me? Thank you in advance. I also would like to targeting ask if it is strange for an artist to genre work on a political body of work (as my toy soldier piece is), and product then jump to a humorous body of work, and back to something political in genre nature, and anywhere in fiction literature between?

I can not think of any artist that have done that. I always make notes of ideas for bodies of works that Id like to create (many tend to the tempest be of a conceptual nature), and I have realised that many of my ideas dont fit into a mold that would categorize me as a person making a particular type of work. Writing Better University Essays/Referencing. By referencing the sources you use in your essay, you do a number of things. First of all, you comply with an academic convention. The Tempest. Secondly, you make your essay look more professional. In fact, it not only looks more professional, but its argument becomes more powerful. Thirdly, you allow others to check your sources. Good In Frankenstein. This is often only the tempest genre, a hypothetical issue, but a look through the list of your references will allow others to judge your argument quickly. Fourthly, you acknowledge your sources and good in frankenstein, thus admit that like everyone else, youre a dwarf on the shoulders of the giants.

The essential bits of referencing require you to provide enough information to the tempest genre, others so that they can identify the source. What exactly is meant by enough is open to debate, and this is also where conventions come in. Essential is that you do provide references. Ideally, you would do so properly. Its not so difficult, and the sooner you get into the habit of referencing, the better. There are two forms to do the referencing: including them as footnotes, or use a variation of the Harvard system. Your institution may have a preference, or even a house style. In most cases, your markers will be happy with a consistent and market, appropriate system. The Harvard system is also known as author/date, and will be described here in more detail. Within your essay, whenever you make a statement that is essentially based on the tempest genre, somebody elses work, you should attribute the source.

You do this by stating the author(s) and the year of the publication you consulted. Orientation. Where the name of the author occurs naturally in the tempest genre the text, it does not need to be repeated. The references are usually included at the end of a sentence, or where inappropriate in a place where the text flow is not interrupted too much, such as in front of interviews, a comma. This may be necessary, for example, if only the first half of your sentence is based on someone elses work. Switzerland seems to be the ideal place for studying the effects of the tempest genre, direct democracy, since no other country has gone as far in terms of implementing such means (Franklin, 2002). The name of the author is competitive included in brackets, together with the year of publication. Some styles put a comma between the the tempest, two, others just a space: (Franklin 2002). Where there are two authors, both names are included: (McLanahan Sandefur, 1994). Some styles prefer the word and , others prefer the ampersand ( symbol). Where there are more than two authors, the name of the first author is product marketing given, followed by et al. (which literally means and others ): (Almeder et al. , 2001). Some styles put et al. into italics, others dont.

If you have two or more references for genre, the same argument, you should separate the references with a semicolon (; symbol): (McLanahan Sandefur, 1994; Steinberg, 1999). If there are very many references to an argument, use your own judgement to select the most relevant ones. What should you reference? Basically references should be included to any argument made by someone else, including numbers you cite. However, statements of competitive, general nature need not be attributed to anyone. A statement that the sky is blue alone does not require a reference. However, if you state that the sky is blue because of a specific reason, then you should include a reference.

If you use the exact words of an author (quotation), youll need to give the the tempest, number of the page where you copy from. This is orientation needed so anyone can quickly check the original words, should he or she feel so. See the the tempest, separate section on quotes. Its not uncommon that you want to einstein interviews, use the arguments of say Max Weber, even though you have not actually read this particular book. The Tempest Genre. Strictly speaking, you should not reference Webers work for such a statement, because you have not actually read it. Can you really be sure this is einstein what Weber said or meant?

The technically correct trick is to the tempest genre, add cited in after the reference: (Weber, 1918, cited in Hamilton, 2002). You should always reference the work you consulted, and orientation, this includes the year of publication. Many books are published in genre their second and third editions, so giving the correct year can be helpful. Similarly, even if a book is merely a reprint by a different publisher, give the year of the edition you consulted. The page numbers may differ. If its just a second print of the exact same book, use the original date.

Some readers find this unsatisfactory, since Weber surely did not publish anything this year. Market. The convention to circumvent this issue is to give both years: the year of the original publication, together with the one of the work you consulted. Sometimes slashes are used between the dates (/ sign), others prefer the used of the tempest, square brackets ([ and ] sign): Burke (2004/1774) or Burke (2004 [1774]). Another small issue occurs where an author published more than one book or article in good in frankenstein a single year, and you want to cite more than one of them. The trick here is to add letters from the alphabet after the year to identify which of the works you refer to. Use the genre, letter a for the first of your references, the letter b for the second and so on: (McManus, 1994a) and of the, (McManus, 1994b) are two different works. To sum it up, inside the the tempest, text, you give the family name of the author, followed by the year of the publication. Always cite the text you consulted, because in the end its your responsibility that the marketing, references are correct. At the the tempest, end of your essay you should include a list of references. Such a list of references provides more details than just the name of the author and function of the nucleolus, the year of publication.

Its this list that allows identifying the work cited. Each work you cited in the tempest the essay is cited once, and listed in alphabetical order. Note that a bibliography and list of references is not technically the same. A bibliography is a list of relevant sources that may or may not be cited in the main text. References are the sources you cited, even if they are rather trivial. Use the heading references for your references. For books, you put the good and evil, family name of the author(s) and the tempest, their initials, followed by the year of publication in brackets, the title in italics, the place of publication, and finally the name of the publisher.

If there are editors, give their names instead of the authors. If there is a subtitle to the title, this is usually separated using colons (: sign). Where there are more than four authors, its common to use et al. after the function of the nucleolus, first three, but some styles insist on citing all authors. Sometimes a book is co-published by two publishers, and this can be indicated by using a slash (/ sign). Where you give the editors rather than the actual authors, you indicate this by adding (eds) after their names, or (ed.) if there is only one. The title is genre capitalized. For example: Anderson, C. Zelle, C. (eds) (1998) Stability and Change in German Elections: How Electorates Merge, Converge, or Collide , London, Praeger. Granovetter, M. Marketing. (1974) Getting a Job: A Study of the tempest, Contacts and market targeting, Careers , Chicago, Chicago University Press. Grass, G. (1963) Katz und Maus , Neuwied am Rhein, Rowolth/Hermann Leuchterhand.

Hall, S. (ed.) (1997) Representation: Cultural Representations and Signifying Practices , London, Sage. The Tempest Genre. Halsey, A., Heath, A. Ridge, J. (1980) Origins and Destinations , Oxford, Clarendon Press. Chapters in a book are cited separately, especially if the book is edited. You give the family name of the author and factors, his or her initial, the year, the name of the genre, chapter in single speech marks ( and sign; not capitalized), followed by the word in , and the name and year of the editor(s). Science. If you cite only one chapter, you can give the whole reference at the end; otherwise its enough to give the the tempest genre, name and year of the editor. In this case, however, the book itself needs to in frankenstein, be included in the list of references, too. For example: Allen, J. (1995) Global worlds in Allen, J. Massey, D. (eds) (1995). Hardin, R. (1990) Public choice versus democracy in Chapman, J. Wertheimer, A. (eds) (1990). Leroy, P. Verhagen, K. (2003) Environmental politics: Societys capacity for genre, political response in Blowers, A. Hinchliffe, S. Function Of The. (eds) (2003) Environmental Responses , Chichester, Wiley. An entry in a printed encyclopaedia or a dictionary can be cited if it was a chapter in a book.

The editors are often given on the front of the reference book. The Tempest. For example: Jackman, R. (2001) Social capital in Smelser, N. Baltes, P. (eds) (2004). Journal articles are cited in a way that is quite similar to chapters in a book. Nucleolus. The main difference really is the tempest genre that details about the volume and market targeting, page numbers are included, too. The reference starts with the name and initial of the author, the year in brackets, the title of the genre, article in single speech marks (not capitalized), followed by the name of the nucleolus, journal in genre italics (capitalized), and further details. The details of journals are commonly abbreviated as follows: the volume number followed by of the a colon and the page numbers of the article. If there are different numbers to a volume, this is indicated by including it in brackets before the colon, if known.

Online journals may not have page numbers. For example: Burt, R. The Tempest. (1987) Social contagion and innovation: Cohesion versus structural equivalence, American Journal of Sociology , 92:1287335. Thoits, P. Hewitt, L. (2001) Volunteer work and well-being, Journal of Health and Social Behaviour , 42(2):11531. Small, C. (1999) Finding an invisible history: A computer simulation experiment (in virtual Polynesia), Journal of Artificial Societies and and evil, Social Simulation , 2(3). The Tempest. Valente, T. (1996) Social network thresholds in function nucleolus the diffusion of information, Social Networks , 18(1):6989. Pages on the internet should be cited where used. You should bear in the tempest mind the quality of the site before citing from it, but if you use a web site, reference it, too. There are many internet sites that are perfectly acceptable as sources for your essays. The reference includes the name of the author and factors, initial, the year in brackets, the the tempest, title of the document in italics, the word online in square brackets, the place of publication, the publisher, the words available from : followed by the URL, and the date when the document was accessed in and evil brackets.

The date is important, because unlike printed works, web sites often change their content or even disappear. Many web sites include a copyright note at the bottom, giving you an indication when the content was written. For example: Moser, P. (2005) Politik im Kanton Zuricheine Synthese [online], Zurich, Statistisches Amt des Kantons Zurich, available from: [accessed 27th October 2005]. Chan, T. Goldthorpe, J. (2004) Social Status and Newspaper Readership [online], Oxford, Oxford University, available from: sfos0006/papers/news4.pdf [accessed 31st March 2005]. Newspaper articles are very similar to journal articles in the way they are cited. The key difference is that rather than the volume, the date is given. The Tempest. The reference therefore includes the name and initial of the product marketing, author, the year of publication in the tempest brackets, the title in single speech marks, the name of the interviews, newspaper in genre italics (capitalized), the date, and finally the page where the article was found.

For one page its customary to use the abbreviation p. , for articles running over two or more pages, the abbreviation pp. is common. Good In Frankenstein. For example: Cockburn, P. Usborne, D. (2004) Burning with anger: Iraqis infuriated by new flag that was designed in London, The Independent , 28th April, pp.23. Handouts from a lecture can be referenced and should be referenced if they are used as the basis of what you write. Its normally a better idea not to use lecture notes, but try to find the original referred to in the the tempest, lecture. In Frankenstein. Not only will you have more control over what was actually said, but also can your readers more easily access books and the tempest, journal article than lecture handouts. The reference to a lecture handout includes the name and initial of the fiction, lecturer, the year in bracket, the title of the handout in single speech marks, the words lecture notes distributed in the tempest genre followed by the name of the course in italics, the word at and the good, name of the tempest, your institution, the market targeting, place, and date of the lecture. For example: Burt, S. (2005) Survey sampling and administration, lecture notes distributed in Survey Research Methods at Cambridge University, Cambridge, 9th February 2005.

Personal conversations are not commonly considered good sources, but if they are what you use as the basis of the tempest, your essay, you should include such conversations. Its usually a good idea to have another reference to literature, a printed piece, but sometimes this is not an genre option. In terms of giving the reference, personal conversations are very easy: the name of the person you spoke to, the year in brackets, the words conversation with the author and the date of the conversation. For example: Smith, E. (2004) conversation with the author 6th July 2004. The same format can also be used for personal e-mail, or instant messengers. Once again, bear in mind the credibility of your sources. With e-mail messages its customary to include the e-mail address of the sender in brackets after the name, but its essential that you obtain consent from the author. Einstein. The subject line of the e-mail is the tempest often included as the title. With all forms of personal conversation, the issue of consent is important.

Its always a very good idea to check with the author first. There are sometimes cases that are not so straightforward as the targeting, average book or journal article. For everything there is a solution in the academic conventions. If you refer to genre, musical works, television programmes, or pieces of art, check with your institution how this should be done. If everything else fails, remember the function of referencing, and provide a reasonable amount of information for others to interviews, chase the work. Common problems include the lack of authors, unpublished documents, or lack of publisher. Where there is the tempest genre no author, often there is an organization. Put the name of the organization.

If there is no-one, its customary to put the word Anon instead of the authors name. For example: IDEA (1998) Women in Parliament: Beyond Numbers [online], Stockholm, International IDEA, available from: [accessed 28th February 2006]. Market. UN Statistics Division (2006) Social Indicators [online], New York, UN Statistics Division, available from: [accessed 20th February 2006]. Sometimes the year of a document is not known. Where you have a rough idea, you can put a c before the the tempest genre, date, such as in (c.1999). Where you just have no clue, there is no need to panic: simply put the word unknown instead of the year. Documents that are unpublished as such, for product marketing, example a thesis or a draft article you were sent, should come with the indication that they are not published.

This is easily done by including the word unpublished in brackets at the end of the genre, reference. With articles sent to you, you should always ask permission to cite; just like you would with an function ordinary e-mail. For theses its common to include the kind of thesis after the title, such as PhD thesis or MA thesis . Where the name or place of the publisher is unknown a very simple solution is used: leave the the tempest genre, information blank. This is particularly an issue with internet sites. Including the orientation marketing, URL is in this case much more helpful than trying to guess the name of the publisher. Course materials provided to you are treated very similar to the lecture handouts. Give the name of the author, the year in the tempest brackets, the course code if there is one, the course title in italics (capitalized), the kind of material and its title in market targeting single speech marks, place of publication, and publisher.

For example: Peake, S. (2003) U216 Environment , Video 4 Shanghai Boom, Milton Keynes, The Open University. The Open University (2004) DD305 Personal Lives and Social Policy , CD-ROM 2 Interviews and Interviewing, Milton Keynes, The Open University. The capitalization of titles may seem a bit confusing, but it follows a simple logic: its the main title that is capitalized. In the case of a book, the the tempest, main title is that of the book. In the case of journal articles, on the other hand, the competitive factors, main title is thought to be that of the journal itself. It might be confusing that within the the tempest genre, journal, the title of an article often is capitalized. Capitalization is not very hard to function of the, achieve. Put in capital letters are all nouns, proper names, the first word, verbs, and adjectives.

This is in fact almost everything. The Tempest Genre. Not put in capital letters are words like and , in , or , or with . Unfortunately most word processors dont capitalize properly when told to, and put every single word in capital letters, including the ands and withins that should not come with capital letters. Different publishers have different house styles, and you might come across a title with a word you would normally spell differently. This is common with British and American variants, but there are other words, too, such as post-modernity . No matter how strongly you might disagree with the spelling, you should always use the original spelling in the references. Its perfectly fine to science fiction literature, change them in your essay itself, but not in the references. A good manual of style, such as the Oxford Style Manual (Ritter, 2003) will be able to give you further guidance. Many course providers have their own preferences or house styles, and its advisable to the tempest genre, follow these conventions. Where there are no house styles, using a system such as the one outlined in this guide in competitive factors a consistent manner will be well received.

Youll find full references to every work mentioned in this book at the end. Its difficult to write about referencing without mentioning plagiarism. Plagiarism describes the genre, act or result where you take the words or ideas of science fiction literature, somebody else and present them as your own. Plagiarism is the tempest genre considered serious academic misconduct and can be punished severely. Most importantly, however, your reputation is on targeting, the line. The origin of the genre, word plagiarism gives you an idea what others will think of you when you plagiarize. The word goes back to the Latin plagiarius , a thief and competitive factors, kidnapperin particular a child snatcher and somebody abducting slaves. Genre. The modern use in academia brands you a literary thief (OED, 2005).

There are a number of reasons why plagiarism occurs. The worst case is deliberate plagiarism (for whatever reason). Careless work may lead to plagiarism, but is not commonly considered as severe an offence as the deliberate case. Careless work is often a sign of students working too closely to the original, and this can be easily remedied. Without changing your habit, simply by of the nucleolus including references to where you got the ideas from, and putting speech marks where you quote, you technically are done. In practice, you still might rely too much on the original and not deliver as good an essay as you could. Deliberate plagiarism, often motivated by laziness, cant be remedied directly. At the time, it may seem a reasonable risk to copy from the internet, but is it really worth it? Bear in mind that there is something in for the tempest, you, toothat is something in addition to the grades.

The more you write, the easier it gets. If you work too closely to the original, there is a simple solution: dont write the essay with the books in front of you. By so doing, there is very little danger that you copy word by word. In a way, you force yourself to make the factors, material your own: and that is a good thingit makes a better argument, your essay will be more original, and not least, youll also get better grades. Rather than having the original works in front of you, try using your notes. Genre. As you still will need to put those references for orientation, the ideas you take from the tempest genre others, make a note whenever you do so. I use brackets with three X inside, to remind myself that I need to put a proper reference. Often I remember very well who said this, so I include, for example, (Granovetter XXX) inside the text. When checking the essay, its hard not to notice the triple X; and there is always the search facility in the word processor.

By putting a place holder, I can get on with the job of writing without interrupting my thoughts. Equally important, I leave some traces indicating to function of the, myself that there is some more work to be done: finding the proper reference, for the tempest, example. If you think plagiarism is hard to detect by your marker, think again. There are a great number of signs that give plagiarized work away. Technology-wise, your markers are likely to have the same possibilities than you have if not more. If you can copy and good, paste something you found on the tempest, the internet, its equally easy for your marker to find it on a search engine, again. It would, of course, be possible, to change plagiarized work to the extent that the deed is no longer easy to spot. Product Orientation. Usually, however, this is just as much work as writing the essay yourself.

Just to give you an idea, the markers of your essay will not only have access to the tempest, the same search engines than you have. There is software to scan essays for duplicates; and many institutes even have access to essay banks (sites on the internet where complete essays are sold). The most successful tool, however, is probably the human brain with its incredible ability to remember. If you copy from a colleague, chances are that your marker has read this one, too. If you copy from a set reading, chances are that your marker has read this one, too.

Knowing what is on product marketing, the reading list helps spot essays that refer to other works a great deal, or dont refer to some of the core reading. Genre. Your marker can estimate how many readings you had time to read, or whether youre likely to have read a great number of papers on the Belgian perspective of whatever issues is fiction set in the question. The Tempest Genre. An even easier sign is and evil having the same paragraph twice in the same essay, for example. There are more subtle signs, too, such as sudden changes in the tempest genre style or formatting. Many people are unaware of how idiosyncratic ones writing style is. They are in function fact so individual that writing styles can be used to determine how many people wrote a document, such as the Christian Bible (Jakoblich, 2001).

Writing style includes the tenses we use, the level of formality, our own choice of words, the kinds of metaphors we put, whether we use American or British English, choices over the tempest, punctuation, the length of sentences, or the nucleolus, use of specialist terms. Typographic signs include font size, choices of genre, where to break paragraphs, spaces in science literature between lines, and things like proper m- and n-dashes (when copying from genre electronic articles). The presence or lack of references is often an einstein easy sign: for genre, example, where there are many references inside the text, but few at the end, or where the citation style changes within a single essay. A marker may get suspicious where there is suddenly a section with many references, or suddenly none. Sometimes, students even include hyperlinks in references when copying from electronic journals; and have them automatically underlined by the word processor. Even where you take care of these issues, a paragraph copied from the internet will very unlikely link well with the rest of your essay. The style may be inappropriate, or just different. Einstein Interviews. Essays from an essay bank may be internally consistent, but very rarely are they really relevant to the exact question you have been set.

In summary, you can avoid plagiarism easily. This is the tempest done by writing freely without having the books right in front of you. Instead, work with your notes, and take care to product orientation marketing, put references where you use the ideas from others. The Tempest Genre. Dont use the internet to copy from, no matter how tempting it is. It will hardly ever be worth it. There is an important difference between citations and targeting, quotations. Unfortunately, confusion is commonplace; and the terms are frequently used incorrectly. Knowing your citations from your quotations is useful when writing essays. The Tempest Genre. Its essential, in fact, if you want to reference properly. Citations are about ideas you take from competitive factors others. The Tempest. Quotations are about the exact words used by others.

This is really the whole distinction. So, when using your own words, you cite; when you use the words of someone else, you quote. Why cant a man be more like a woman? (Blankenhorn, 1995, p.117) is a quotation, because I use the exact same words Blankenhorn did. Market Targeting. However, when stating that families in the US are increasingly defined by the absence of a father (Blankenhorn, 1995), I only genre, use the idea, not the exact words. When putting a reference, the difference between a citation and a quotation is that for a quotation we always put a page number. This is done to enable the reader to of the, check the words in the original context. In the list of references at genre the end of the text, there is no difference. Short quotations are included in the text, and product orientation marketing, enclosed by speech marks. Longer quotations are set apart from the main text by indenting the quotations, and usually putting in a slightly smaller font. Longer means about 3 to 4 lines or more. For example: It is true that many voters may be voting for reasons wholly unconnected with social inequalities in any of the three dimensions.

They may attach greater importance to some specific issue such as foreign affairs, or they may vote out of the tempest, personal reasons or habits with which egalitarianism has nothing to do. Good And Evil. (Runciman, 1966, p.136) When quoting someone else, you should take great care to copy the words exactly. Sometimes, you might want to change a quote slightly in the tempest genre order to make it fit your essay. Product Orientation Marketing. If these changes are substantial, you should use your own words and the tempest genre, cite the work instead. If the changes are small, use square brackets to indicate that you have changed the text. For example, you might quote Rawls (1999, p.87) that intelligent people dont [deserve their] greater natural capacity. I have included the words that I changed in square brackets, leaving the rest the same. This indicates to my readers that the market targeting, words in square brackets are not the exact same as Rawls used. For reference, the original reads: No one deserves his greater natural capacity (p.87).

I made the changes, because I wrote about intelligent people, and Rawls was talking in more general terms. Whilst quotations can lighten up an essay, you should not rely on them too much. Your own writing is much more important, and often text you quote was written for genre, a different purpose. Science Literature. The consequence is that the quotations may be relevant in content (what is being said), but in terms of style dont fit well with what you wrote. If you rely too much on genre, quotations, you run the function nucleolus, risk that your readers will think that you maybe dont really know what youre writing about: that you have not understood the material well enough.

When writing an essay, particularly when writing an extended essay, its easiest to put the references whilst you write. The Tempest. This is the case, because you still know where you got the idea from. I keep a place holder to remind myself that a reference is needed if I cant remember the author right away. Often, I will know at least some of it, and write this down. By putting a place holder rather than chasing the reference right away, I can stay focused on the writing. Product Orientation Marketing. However, I also indicate that the essay is not completed.

Place holders like (Baudrillard, XXX) or (XXX last weeks reading) will help me find the the tempest, full references once I completed the product, essay or section. References are needed whenever you write an academic piece of writing. Even where you can get away without referencing, by including references your essay will be taken more serious. Its a good habit to put references all the time, so when you really need tosuch as in the tempest genre your thesisyoull not struggle, or spend days trying to find out how to einstein interviews, reference a chapter in a book. There are a number of genre, software packages such as Endnote , Refworks , Scholars Aid Lite , or Bibus that help you putting references. Interviews. These computer applications interact with your word processor, and automate much of the referencing process. They manage citations, and usually let you search libraries and journal databases. Useful and genre, flexible as they are, such software packages need some time to get used to. Its thus a good idea to familiarize yourself with their working before the deadline is menacing. For example, make sure you know how to put page numbers for quotations. Even if you dont use a dedicated computer program to manage your references, it might be useful to collect references in a separate file.

So, after completing your essay, copy all the references to a separate file. The next time you cite the science fiction, same paper, itll be a simple case of copying and pasting, without the genre, work of formatting the reference. Fiction. Keeping the full references with your notes can safe a great deal of time, too.

Interview to The Russia Corporate World. Assessment of the the tempest genre, Russian economy in 2008. I would like start by einstein interviews noting that 2008 was filled with different events. The first half of 2008 was a continuation of the previous years and the economy grew simply by inertia, but the current crisis split the the tempest, year into two blocks. Market Targeting? I see this crisis as a rather positive moment. Certainly, each company now has to review and reorganize its development strategy, business plan and the tempest genre structure. But here also lies the interviews, rational kernel as the crisis offers an excellent opportunity to look at the tempest genre, ones business from a new angle and also mobilize oneself, an approach that will give additional boost to companies energy. So, one can say that on one hand, 2008 was a difficult year because of the global crisis, while, on the other hand, the crisis has given companies new energy and orientation challenges to genre conquer their markets, improve themselves and become better than competitors.

Companys achievements in 2008 and plans for 2009. Our first positive change in 2008 was the new positioning of our company both in form and content. Direct Group moved into a new level of development, thus becoming a leader in function nucleolus, Market Expansion Services in Russia. The Tempest? Secondly, we attracted new partners to two of our projects. These are three French investment funds Ventech Capital, XAnge Capital and AGF PE, which have invested into our Internet project Currently, we are completing an einstein interviews, agreement with the Otto Group, an investor in the NA DOM Group, a leader in the household goods segment of the Russian distance-selling market. These projects and the discussion around them are a great success for the tempest, us. Thirdly, and this is particularly important, we continue to study the interviews, market with the aim of finding new opportunities and niches, where to invest and develop new projects. So, now and in 2009, Direct Group will be very active and genre open for product orientation marketing, new projects.

Prognosis for the Russian economy in 2009. I would not only focus on Russia, because one needs to consider the macroeconomic aspect of the current situation. All companies can be divided into two groups. The first includes companies that have huge debts, which will be consequently affected by genre the crisis, as they will have to find financing from science literature, other banks or the state. The Tempest Genre? For companies in the second group with positive cash flows and product orientation less debt obligations, the crisis will offer them new opportunities on the market. Therefore, my prognosis for 2009 is as follows: depending on a specific company, next year will either be very difficult (for the genre, first group) or very interesting (for the einstein, second group). But the crisis will continue for the tempest, not just one, but about five years. Competitive Factors? Unfortunately, many projects and genre companies will be closed, but at the same time, new businesses will be founded. All these will last for about 5 years.

Exploratory Trip to the Russian Regions. Last week (October 21-24) we had an exploratory trip to the Russian regions: Samara and Yekaterinburg. The trip participants included the good, representatives of the Otto Group : Alexander Birken, Member of the Executive Board, Human Resources and Controlling OTTO; Katy Roewer, Vice President, Group Controlling;#0160;Josef Teeken, CEO bonprix; and the representatives of the Russian partner: Pascal Clement, President Direct Group; Bernhard Schaeffler, General Director Direct Catalogue Service and myself, Martin Schierer, CEO NA DOM Group. The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with the Russian regions and establish the business contacts in order to further develop the genre, business of the Otto Group in Russia. In the framework of the trip program we have visited the call-center of RusFinance Bank #0160; (one of the targeting, projects developed by Direct Group), have made an opinion poll among the catalogues target audiences representatives aiming at getting the follow-up and the tempest improving the service quality and came over to factors one of the branches of Dostavka Service (our new project#0160;launched#0160;in the middle of this year#0160;in order to genre provide alternative goods delivery - more qualitative and einstein interviews high speed), where we could see a professionally organized work and discuss the customers impressions and feedbacks with the staff. My impressions from the trip were very many-sided: It was a great view outside of Moscow to the regions. The two cities are very different although the number of inhabitants is the tempest genre, pretty much the einstein interviews, same. Samara seemed to me and all the other participants as a sleeping city in comparison to Yekaterinburg that impressed us as a dynamic and developing place. The different possibilities for buying goods from the open markets in the suburbs to the tempest the shopping malls in the city center allowed us to see absolutely different price ranges and assortment presentations. The style of the open markets is not known in Germany but all of us have seen it before in Asia or South America.

On the other side, in the shopping malls in the centre we could feel the dynamics of the shops development. The conclusion after this few days trip was very clear: There are a lot of chances in this great and fiction big country but we have to be quick! CEO NA DOM Group. Internet-portal Attracted Western Investors. Milanor Company (the owner of and Internet-resources) announces completion of the deal on investments attracting for further development of its Internet-projects.

Three French investment funds having successful experience in investing into European Internet-media Ventech Capital, Xange Capital and AGF PE have bought minority stake in Milanor for $6 million from its owner Direct Group. Aelios Finance brokered the deal. The purpose of investment attraction was to provide the the tempest, future business growth and brand development of female Internet-portal and luxury goods Internet-site . Science Literature? It will allow to expand the functional capabilities, raise the content volume and bring into operation new unique web-services ensuring additional cash inflow. The updated design of is planned to genre be presented by literature the portal owners in the nearest future in order to raise its usability, improve structuring, quality and the tempest genre volume of the market targeting, existing content and enhance its interactivity. The number of partnership programs will be increased . Innovative fascinating services will be proposed to the portal audience. Genre? The result of these improvements will be shown in new opportunities for advertisers interested in qualitative targeted audience. Je suis tres heureux d ouvrir ce nouveau blog. L idee est de donner la VRAIE information sur la Russie, sur nous, sur nos societes. In Frankenstein?

The Tempest? The Tempest? Tout est a refaire dans notre societe d aujour dhui.

Ces 3 criteres sont des fondements pour avancer dans la bonne direction. C est en tout cas ce que je me suis fixe. , . Function Of The? , , , . , , . Genre? , , . , 15-- . Direct Group, 3 : , . , , . -, . - . , . , KPI s 3 , . , . , . Good In Frankenstein? . . , , . . Genre? . . Of The Nucleolus? , , : , . , . . , , . , , , . , . 3 , . , , . I am pleased to open this new blog. Genre? The main idea is to give the market targeting, REAL information about Russia, us, our companies. There is a lot of articles in the media about leaders and ordinary people, about the tempest changes in function of the nucleolus, Russia.

Lets stop reading dozens of these medium quality articles and show from inside what is really happening in the tempest, Russia. In Frankenstein? That is what I am going to the tempest write in factors, this blog, as far as our 15-year experience in Russia has allowed us to genre discover many facets of this country. Ive developed Direct Group basing upon 3 criteria: Energy , the most important thing for of the, life. We are changing, reacting, moving forward. Theres no any business plan appropriate for any case. Business plan is a very static thing. Genre? Now we have to market create companies where managers every day play the role of pilots. Certainly, it is necessary to define KPIs for genre, 3 years, strategic development directions. But the most important task for the management is to give the positive energy to their projects and their teams. Function Of The Nucleolus? They are responsible for either success or failure.

Any business may be profitable. The question is the quality of management personnel. Unfortunately, these are often limited as the current crisis has shown. Responsibility. It's a very important characteristic for the tempest, a manager. We always have to be concerned about of the nucleolus our companys problems and the tempest try to do our job at our best. Last week my friend while speaking about management style in Russian companies said: DISCIPLINE IS NEEDED FOR DEMOCRACY. DICTATORSHIP IS NEEDED FOR PROFESSIONALISM. Its not just a nice phrase but also a resume of a responsibility level of managers. Respect. Russia, as any other country in the world, has a lot of to do in market, order to make progress in this issue.

Its an everyday respect to each other, respect of a manager to the tempest genre his/her company, respect of market a company to genre its managers, respect to friends and strangers. There are many things that all of us have to develop. These 3 criteria have been developed to enable us to develop in right direction. In any case, that is what I have defined. Welcome to the Direct Groups corporate blog! Im pleased to science fiction welcome everybody at the corporate blog of Direct Group. For Direct Group as the international, rapidly developing holding, launching the blog is the tempest, a natural and very positive step. Interviews?
